Before we began our trip this past summer we were told, “Your children will never forget this trip.” EVERYONE told us that. The neighbors. The kid's teachers. The family who sold us the camper. All of our friends. After getting off to a slightly rocky start, Stephie and I were looking at each other thinking, “Oh no, our kids will never forget this!!” It was more than that. I had struggled with the idea that a day on a vacation was any more memorable than every single other day. I like to believe that every day is really special. Then I learned something. When you strip away all the daily stuff that fills your world, you have this beautiful empty space inside. With that space you can really appreciate each day in new ways. So yes - we will all never forget this.
