90 minutes from home we stopped at a hotel. We could have easily made it home, it was not that late. We had just driven through a magnificent lightening storm with Philip Glass providing the soundtrack. Then the boys decided we needed one more night (after 59 on the road) and as Rufus Wainwright sang, "Going to a Town" we pulled into Fort Morgan. It made no more sense than any decision we had made all summer and yet....in that room...on that night....we were together and everything made sense. In the morning I took these two pictures. Funny how you find beautiful light in places that are not really that beautiful. I had been trying all summer to take a picture of each boy that just showed exactly what they look like right now. After taking these I was fine heading home.
