This shoot was at the height of “Friends” madness. There were paparazzi clawing outside the door. There was Chris McMillan IN PERSON doing their hair. There was more buzz and energy going on all over the room full of publicists and editors. In the middle of it all I had an idea for a wall with boxes – one for each cast member – mounted to a wall. Everyone was on board – talent likes a clear idea. Peter Gargaliano built the beast. I gently asked the cast to make the boxes their own. The funny thing here is when you are mounted on the wall you really can’t see whole effect. This was being shot on film, so there is no monitor to examine the results. The iconic shot is the one where they are all holding hands – a simple ask…. but the outtakes are all fun, too.
